Promoting technologies that enable sustainable living in arid climates.
about
An Innovation Community promoting the development, adaptation and commercialization of technologies that enable sustainable living in arid climates, while turning Be'er Sheva and the Negev region into a global entrepreneurial hub for “desert tech.”
Desertification is a major environmental threat impacting around one-third of the world's landmass and 2.1 billion people. The stakes are high: without solutions, this could lead to widespread food insecurity, mass migration, and social unrest. DeserTech is confronting this challenge with a community blooming with solutions. They bring together startups, researchers, industry giants, international organizations, and policymakers for one goal: to spark innovation that thrives in arid climates. Building on the existing expertise of Ben Gurion University’s Institute for Desert Research and regional R&D centers, DeserTech fuels collaboration for groundbreaking technologies and turns Be'er Sheva and the Negev region into a living laboratory nestled in the world's desert belt and a global hub for "desert tech."
